La Moneze Basse was founded in 2011 to create an ideal vacation spot in the heart of the Cathar Country, South of Carcassonne, not far from the bustling little town of Limoux.

A few years ago, we decided to turn our lives around and do what we had been dreaming of for some time:
Moving to a place with peace and space and sharing it with others. During our search, we ended up at La Moneze Basse in southern France and we were actually immediately sold.
It is a beautiful old estate with a lovely large garden in a quiet area on the outskirts of Limoux. There is plenty to do in the area: hiking (from light to heavy), cycling, canoeing, golf and, of course, wine tasting and good food. Moreover, we are in the middle of Cathar country, there is plenty to discover about this history in the region.
So whether you want to relax, enjoy culinary delights, look for sporting activities or discover the history of the region: everything is possible here!
The estate has 3 holiday cottages and we have recently expanded this with 3 bed & breakfast rooms, one of which is also wheelchair accessible.
